Seats are still available for a free performance of “James and the
Giant Peach” at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, at Randolph Community
College’s R. Alton Cox Learning Resources Center auditorium. The
children’s play will be performed by UNCG’s North Carolina Theatre for
Young People.
Just like the book, the play is driven by its delightfully
distinctive personalities. Due to an unfortunate accident with a rhino
in London, resulting in the loss of both his parents, James is sent to
live with his cruel aunts, Spiker and Sponge. Fear not, hope arrives in
an unexpected magical gift, saving James from their grasp. This gift
provides escape into a giant peach inhabited by a group of quirky bugs.
Craving a little adventure, these new friends sail that giant peach into
the treacherous ocean waves. This production is suitable for all ages
with an approximate running time of 60 minutes.
To get your free tickets, go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/unc-g-little-theatre-production-of-james-and-the-giant-peach-tickets-18892246217. Seating is limited.
RCC’s Asheboro Campus is located at 629 Industrial Park Avenue. Take
the McDowell Road exit off of U.S. 220 Bypass/I73-I74 and follow the
signs.
