Beta Theta Rho, Randolph Community College’s chapter of Phi Theta
Kappa, the international honor society of the two-year college, was
selected as a winner in the Honors Case Study Challenge on Feb. 23. The
award was based upon a project that the officer team completed in the
fall of 2015. The 2015 Phi Theta Kappa student officers were Donna
Burleson, president; Emma Lambirth, vice president; Christina Nutt,
secretary; Sandy Woosley, public relations; and Jonathan Jarrett,
treasurer.
The student officers focused their project on the topic of the Boy
Scouts of America and explored the various challenges that the
organization has faced over the past few years. Their research involved
examining articles from nationally recognized newspapers, writing a
summary statement, developing discussion questions, examining future
implications of the topic, and providing a list of additional resources
for further study of the topic.
