Randolph Community College will be participating in FAFSA Day 2016 on
Saturday, Feb. 20, as a part of Financial Aid Awareness week in North
Carolina.
More than 350,000 students in North Carolina have applied for
financial aid to help pay for college costs, according to a proclamation
issued by North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory naming Feb. 15-20, 2016, as
Financial Aid Awareness Week in North Carolina.
On FAFSA Day, college financial aid officers and other volunteers
will help students complete their Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA) forms over the Internet. FAFSA Day is a program offered by
College Foundation of North Carolina, the North Carolina Association of
Student Financial Aid Administrators, and the State Employees’ Credit
Union each February.
The program is open to students who plan to attend college in the
2016-17 academic year. RCC’s event will be held from 9 a.m.-noon, Feb.
20, in Rooms 106 and 108 of the Continuing Education and Industrial
Center on the Asheboro Campus. The event is free and students should
register for FAFSA Day by calling the College Foundation of North
Carolina toll free at 1-866-866-CFNC or by going to http://www.cfnc.org/FAFSAday.
