Members of Beta Theta Rho, Randolph Community College’s chapter of Phi
Theta Kappa, have been quite busy since January. Several students from
RCC’s PTK chapter attended the Phi Theta Kappa Carolinas Regional
Convention in Clemmons from March 22-24. Members from PTK chapters in
various North Carolina community colleges and South Carolina technical
colleges attended various workshops and seminars to learn more about the
mission and purpose of PTK.
Phi Theta Kappa is the only internationally acclaimed honor society
serving two-year institutions that offer associate degree programs. PTK
Honor Society, headquartered in Jackson, Miss., is the largest honor
society in American higher education with 1,280 chapters on college
campuses in all 50 of the United States, Canada, Germany, the Republic
of Palau, Peru, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated
States of Micronesia, the British Virgin Islands, the United Arab
Emirates and U.S. territorial possessions. More than 2.5 million
students have been inducted since its founding in 1918, with
approximately 135,000 students inducted annually. The Carolinas Region
has 84 chapters between the states of North Carolina and South
Carolina.
