Randolph Community College will help celebrate North Carolina
Manufacturing Awareness Week, April 8-12, 2013, by hosting an Advanced
Manufacturing Career Fair on Tuesday, April 9, from 6-8 p.m. in the
Continuing Education and Industrial Center at 413 Industrial Park Avenue
on the Asheboro Campus. Representatives from several local industries
offering advanced manufacturing jobs will be in attendance. The public
is invited.
Advanced manufacturing is modern,
sophisticated, and uses cutting edge technology to create products used
in fields such as aviation, communications, and health care.
During the Career Fair, visitors can learn about training at RCC
leading to careers in this field, talk to students and instructors in
those programs, participate in hands-on demonstrations of advanced
manufacturing equipment, meet with business and industry representatives
to learn about high-paying jobs, and tour RCC’s new Continuing
Education and Industrial Center.
Local industries
participating include United Brassworks, Timken, Kennametal, Southern
Precision Tools, Tobe Mfg. Co., Teleflex, SouthCorr, Acme McCrary, and
Americhem. A representative from Randolph County Economic Development
Corporation will also participate.
For more information, contact Melinda Eudy, dean of curriculum programs at Randolph Community College, 336-633-0227, or e-mail maeudy@randolph.edu.
