Randolph Community College Archdale Center Offers Basic Computer Software Courses

Randolph Community College’s Archdale Center will offer two computer software courses beginning March 20 that will help students hone their skills in these programs essential to any workplace.

Excel spreadsheets can make personal and business record keeping a snap. In “Microsoft Excel, Basic,” students will see how simple it is to enter, edit, and move information by mouse or keyboard. Discover the easy way to manipulate dollar signs, decimal points and other formatting. Calculations are streamlined with easy formulas and functions. Learn how to use Pivot Tables in order to quickly summarize and analyze large amounts of data. Give your reports a polished look with formatting and printing techniques. Students will need to bring a USB flash drive to save class work. This course will meet from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 20 through April 26. The registration fee is $67; a textbook will be required at an additional cost.

In “Microsoft Word for Beginners,” students will learn to create attractive letters, memos, tables, lists, and even flowcharts for business or personal use. Designed especially for the novice, this course will teach you how to create, edit, save and print documents. You’ll also learn other easy features to make your work look great. You will gain lots of hands-on practice to build your confidence. Students will need to bring a USB flash drive to save class work. This course will meet from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 20 through April 26. The registration fee is $67; a textbook will be required at an additional cost.
