Randolph Community College will offer a class in “Acrylic Pour Painting” beginning May 14. Acrylic pour painting is the art of mixing two or more paint colors in the same container, pouring them onto a canvas or other medium in a desired pattern, then using gravity to move the paint around creating interesting and sometimes surprising colors and results.
In this class with instructor Victoria Pierce, students will explore flip cup painting, puddle pour painting, negative space painting, sink strainer pour painting, and painting bottle bottom technique. Surfaces used will include stretch canvas, old albums, rocks, Christmas ornaments, flower pots, wood, and tiles. The class will also learn how to make jewelry with paint skins.
The class will meet from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Mondays, May 14 through June 11, in Room 102 of the Building Trades Center on the Asheboro Campus. The cost is $55.55. Students will be provided with a supply list upon registration.
Call the Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division at RCC, 336-633-0268, to register.
