Randolph Community College has added a
second Basic Law Enforcement Training class section to begin Monday,
Feb. 9. Anyone interested in attending should contact Paul Goins,
director of RCC's Emergency Services Training Center and the BLET
program, by Jan. 30 at 336-628-4552 or by email at pggoins@randolph.edu.
This daytime class will meet from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Basic Law Enforcement Training is designed to give students essential
skills required for entry-level employment as law enforcement officers
with state, county, or municipal governments, or with private
enterprise. This program utilizes state commission-mandated topics and
methods of instruction. General subjects include criminal, juvenile,
civil, traffic, and alcoholic beverage laws; investigative, patrol,
custody, and court procedures; emergency responses; and ethics and
community relations.
Students must successfully complete and pass all units of study,
which include the certification examination mandated by the North
Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission
and the North Carolina Sheriffs' Education and Training Standards
Commission, to receive a certificate.
In addition to the general admissions requirements for curriculum programs at RCC, additional admissions criteria apply.
