Randolph Community College President Robert S. Shackleford Jr. was
recognized as the Wells Fargo President of the Year by the North
Carolina Community College System during RCC’s curriculum graduation
ceremony on May 8. The honor was originally announced in January.
Dr. Shackleford is a 1969 graduate of Roxboro High School. His sisters, Starr Loftis and Dawn Blalock, still live in Roxboro.
K. Ray Bailey, a member of the State Board of Community Colleges, was
the keynote speaker at Wednesday’s graduation and presented the
President of the Year plaque to Shackleford. Bailey talked to the
graduates about becoming leaders in their communities, then noted they
had a current outstanding leader in Shackleford. Bailey, who has known
Shackleford for many years, said he would describe him as “a man who
loves his creator, a man who loves his family, a man who loves his
college, and a man who loves his community.”
