Randolph Community College’s Advertising and Graphic Design students lent a helping hand to the United Way of Randolph County this year by designing the T-shirts for the upcoming Human Race, scheduled for Saturday, March 17.

Design Department Head Lisa Hughes said the students started working on the project in November, with United Way personnel including Volunteer Coordinator Andrew Oliver visiting the class in December to look at sketches. Twelve students initially drew designs and five students submitted finished designs in January.

The design by Luke Watson, a second-year student from Archdale, was chosen. Hughes offered a $100 prize for the winning student.

This is the first project that RCC’s Advertising and Graphic Design students have done for the United Way.
