Hoover to Teach Guitar Course at Randolph Community College Beginning April 4

Walter Matthew Hoover, a professional musician and teacher for the past 30 years, will teach a "Basic Guitar" course at Randolph Community College beginning Wednesday, April 4. In this course, students will learn the basics of guitar technique that make a strong musical foundation. Topics covered include use of a pick or plectrum, note reading, fretting notes, and playing open position chords. Easy examples of famous songs will be used throughout to make learning fun and inspiring.

The class (#65421) will meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, April 4 through June 6 on the Asheboro Campus. The cost is $150. The textbook, "Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book 1, 2nd edition," is required.
