Randolph Community College Workforce Development and Continuing
Education Division will offer a variety of basic computer courses during
the spring semester to help those who work in office environments. The
Human Resource Development courses are fee-waived for those who are
unemployed, have been notified of impending layoff, or met other
eligibility requirements.
“Career Exploration: Administrative Assistant” is
designed to provide students with an understanding and knowledge base
for becoming entry-level administrative assistants in business,
education, and healthcare settings. Class time will focus on verbal and
written communication skills, computer training, office management, team
building, and career planning. Students will also work to enhance and
build job readiness skills. This course will be offered from 1-4 p.m. on
Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 9 through March 8, at the Goodwill
Community Resource Center on East Dixie Drive.
“Computer Skills: Level I”
is designed to fully introduce the computer to learners for the first
time. Students will focus on all functions of the computer, including
using the current Windows operating system, Microsoft Office software,
internet searches, and basic keyboarding. Other topics covered include
creating resumes, cover letters, setting up and using email accounts,
and basic awareness of technology scams. The course will be offered on
the Asheboro Campus from 6-8:30 p.m., Mondays and Wednesday, Jan. 9 –
March 8. A second section will be offered from 9 a.m.-12 noon, Tuesdays
