Randolph Community College will host a Spring Job Fair on Wednesday,
April 6, as part of its participation in the Southeastern Economic and
Education Leadership Consortium (SEELC). RCC was awarded a $1.7 million
grant from the U.S. Department of Labor in September 2013 to become part
of this multi-state consortium with a focus on advanced manufacturing
jobs.
About 20 employers are expected at the Job Fair, according to Miranda
Lane, recruitment, retention, and completion coach for the SEELC.
Employers will be seeking production operators, machinists, welders, and
maintenance technicians. The event is open to the public and set for
12-4 p.m. in room 148 of the Continuing Education and Industrial Center
at 413 Industrial Park Avenue.
Companies that have already confirmed are SouthCorr, Pemmco, Timken,
Costa Sanders, Plastics Color Corporation of N.C., Jowat Corporation,
Unilin, Acme McCrary, Technimark, Hire Alternatives Staffing, Sapona
Plastics, Safe-T-Works, MegaForce, UltraCraft Cabinetry, Darran
Furniture, Procter & Gamble, The Agency Staffing, Energizer, and SMX
Staffing.
RCC will be graduating students with degrees, diplomas and
certificates from the following programs under the grant: Welding
Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Systems
Technology, and Computer-Integrated Machining.
