Business owners and prospective owners will learn more about the new North Carolina sales tax on services in a free seminar offered by Randolph Community College’s Small Business Center. The seminar will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, in Room 223 of the Continuing Education and Industrial Center on the Asheboro Campus.
Last year, the General Assembly approved extending the sales tax to many services including automotive repair, sign painting, alterations, and more. The tax became effective March 1. This seminar will help business owners understand the impact of the new sales tax on their business. Jonetta Appling, voluntary compliance strategist for taxpayer assistance with the N.C. Department of Revenue, will lead the seminar.
