The Randolph Community College
Foundation is seeking applicants for its second annual High School
Leadership Academy, a leadership development program for rising ninth
graders. The Randolph Community College High School Leadership Academy,
which is modeled after RCC's college-level Student Leadership Academy,
will be a one-day event that will focus on topics such as the definition
of leadership; team building; personality types and leadership styles;
social media, communication and leadership; conflict resolution;
situational leadership; and servant leadership, according to Lorie
McCroskey, RCC's director of development.
Rising freshmen who live and will attend school in Randolph County in
the fall of 2015 and are in good academic standing are eligible to
apply. The Academy will take place from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on Tuesday,
June 16, at the Foundation Conference Center on the Asheboro Campus.
Interested students must complete an application form available from
middle school counselors or at the Foundation office, write a brief
essay on leadership, and submit two reference letters. Completed
application packets are due back to the RCC Foundation by Friday, April
24, at 3 p.m.
For more information about the Academy, application form, or application process, contact McCroskey at llmccroskey@randolph.edu or 336-633-1118.
