Randolph Community College is offering several short-term training
opportunities, some with free tuition for eligible students, beginning
in this fall. RCC has scheduled a One Stop Job Start event to provide
information on training, grants and scholarships, and possible job
opportunities, from 1-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, in RCC’s Corporate
Training Center at 413 Industrial Park Avenue.
Attendees will be able to learn about training in Accelerated Machining,
Adult Basic Education/Adult Secondary Education, Adult High School,
Auto Body Repair, Basic Electrical, Career College, Carpentry, College
Prep Math, Direct Care Worker/CNA, Employability Success, Emergency
Medical Technician and Paramedic, ESOL/Bilingual Language Institute,
Fire Academy, Healthcare Navigator, High School Equivalency Exam
Preparation, HVAC, Insurance, Maintenance Mechanics, Manicurist,
Masonry, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy, Real Estate, Small Business
Center, and Welding. Plus, local companies who are actively hiring will
be on hand to provide information and answer questions about their
industries.
Classes are set to begin this fall,
and the majority of the courses are 12 to 18 weeks in length. Many
programs have day, evening, and weekend options.
Interested students will be able to complete their registration and have
all their questions answered by advisors and counselors on Aug. 5. For
