RCC will be offering an American Sign Language course beginning on
June 13. The course will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and
Wednesdays, June 13 through July 27 at the Asheboro Campus.
The course will introduce the fundamental elements of American Sign
Language. Emphasis is placed on the development of basic expressive and
receptive skills. Upon completion, students should be able to comprehend
and respond with grammatical accuracy to expressive American Sign
Language and demonstrate cultural awareness.
This course is an excellent opportunity for beginners or those
seeking a refresher course. A second-level is being planned at the
conclusion of the beginner’s course. The course cost $70. A book is not
required, and handouts and other information will be provided in class.
