Employment of elementary school teachers is projected to grow 12 percent
nationwide from 2012 to 2022, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor
Statistics. In North Carolina, the projected growth in job openings is
even higher—23% from 2010-2020. Potential elementary school teachers in
Randolph County can train for these jobs without leaving the county
borders through The University Center of Randolph County and Pfeiffer
University.
Students who are planning to enroll in
the University Center of Randolph County/Pfeiffer University Elementary
Education Program next fall should attend an upcoming information
session at Randolph Community College. Representatives from Pfeiffer
will be on hand to discuss application details, financial aid, and
cohort requirements at the session scheduled from 6-7 p.m., Tuesday,
March 25, in the Foundation Conference Center on Randolph Community
College’s Asheboro Campus.
